1.INTRO
OUT. TOKYO STREETS. NIGHT.
A long-distance shot shows people walking through the Tokyo streets, lightened by neon lights. With a short transition, the shot changes to a close-up of Kawaru's cigarette.
KAWARU (OFF)
This world is corrupted. The politics, the banks, the companies... They are all above you, making sure that you won't raise against them stepping on your neck.
Takes a puff on the cigar. He starts walking. The camera shows a close-up of the side view of his face.
KAWARU (OFF)
For poor people, for underground neighbourhoods there is never a change. THEY made that happen. THEY don't want to reach their level. We will be dangerous.
The camera angle changes to a medium shot showing Police Officer running in the same direction that Kawaru walks.
POLICE OFFICER (YELLING)
Move! This is a critical situation!
One of the cops pushes Kawaru. He looks back while Kawaru is getting stand.
POLICE OFFICER 2
We told you to move.
The Police officer runs to go along with the rest. Kawaru stands again.
KAWARU (OFF)
Critical? You say that only when it's a critical situation for a big boss.
Kawaru goes in front of a building where the cops are covered. Kawaru turns the corner, meanwhile, at the background, the police officers get in the building yelling.
POLICE OFFICER
(yelling, background)
Put your hands up! This is a raid!
Kawaru walks through the dark street and then the police sirens begin to sound.
KAWARU (OFF)
THEY want you out of the system, their system. And living there is hard. Really hard; but you learn something, and that is not feeling fear.
Kawaru stops in front of a door, he kicks it and opens it completely.
INS. ILEGAL CASINO. NIGHT.
With the police sirens and slot machine sound at the background, there is a crossed shooting between the police officer, at the left; and the gangster, at the right. After a long shot showing the entire situation, the camera changes the angle shown Kawaru's face for the first time, and he pulls out two guns from his backside of the pants.
KAWARU (smilling)
I'm going to show you some manners, you motherfucking cop.
Context
This script was made as one of the practices of the Narrative Course for Video Games at Gametopia. The intention was to create an introduction for a punk game, similar to No More Heroes (the name itself is a reference to this one). Unlike other scripts, no deeper idea was explored than having a 90's style antihero.
