Hell’s Trial

*Available in English too

1.INTRO

You are in Hell and the Demon is lied in front of you. You are confused. He starts talking.

DEVIL

Another one... And who are you? I'm sick of always repeating the same thing.

YOU

What's this? Am I... In Hell?

DEVIL

Always so shocked, as if you were not aware of the evils you committed in your past life.

YOU

But...

DEVIL

I don't care what you have to say. I know what you've done and I'm going to send you to Hell because of that.

YOU

Wait, wait. What if you bet?

DEVIL

Bet?

YOU

Yes, you give me a second chance and...

DEVIL

Interesting. Nobody asked me that before. Whatever, you humans are always the same. To Hell with y-

YOU

And what if I replace you?

DEVIL

How dare you?

YOU

You look tired. If I replaced you, you could go on holidays for a while.

DEVIL

This is new, tell me more.

YOU

Prove me. Give me your power or whatever allows you to see people's life. I will send them to the different circles instead of you.

DEVIL

Holidays... How did I not think about it before?

YOU

So, what do you think?

DEVIL
(in his own
thoughts)

Huh? Yeah, alright. I will test you. This balance scale allows you to know if the judged person lies, the usual thing, or if they tell the truth.

YOU

So, will I sit on that chair and be like you?

DEVIL

No. Humans overstimate themselves too quickly. You will go to the Purgatory and you will judge if the souls must go to Heaven or Hell. If you are good enough, you can replace me for a while.

YOU

I won't go to Hell, then?

DEVIL

Of course you will. But to a nicer one or to the ninth circle if you screw things up. Maybe I will create a Hell just for you. That would be funny. Anyway, if you do ir right, you will delay your entrance to Hell. Now take this. I am going to send you to the Purgatory right now. I will be checking your skills.

YOU
(to yourself)

I can't believe it, I've fooled the Devil.

The Devil gives you his balance scale.

DEVIL

Pay attention. This balance scale can tell you if someone is telling the TRUTH. Or if someone is LYING. However, keep this in mind: Justice is blind...

Now you are in the Purgatory and a soul resents in front of you. The level begins.

YOU

Greetings. You’re in the Purgatory. You’re going to be judged so we know if you deserve to go Heaven or Hell. To start things off, tell me your name.

LOUIS

So, the Purgatory. I guess that I shouldn’t have drunk that much. My name is LOUIS.

Choose. This case is TRUTH.

YOU

So LOUIS, tell me a little about you.

LOUIS

Huh, this is so generic. I was married and had a little daughter. I worked as an oficinist in a design agency.

YOU

Did you like your work?

LOUIS

As I can tell, yeah, I really liked it. There was a good fellowship and we used to go out once or twice a month. I always came back home drunk.

Choose. This case is LIE.

YOU

And what happened the night you died? If you can remember anything.

LOUIS

Not so much. I was so drunk that night, it was Saturday night and I wanted to celebrate the promotion of a partner. I drank so much and then I rode my motorbike home. That’s everything I can remember.

Choose. This case is LIE.

YOU

So, you were celebrating the promotion of a friend...

LOUIS
(corrects you)

A partner, PARTNER.

YOU

Didn’t you consider him a friend? You were celebrating his promotion.

LOUIS

To make things clear, if you could go to a party, who would lose that opportunity? haha But I really didn’t have much relationship with my colleagues. Neither good or bad, just they aren’t... weren’t my friends.

Choose. This case is TRUTH.

YOU

Was everything ok at home? It’s not normal that you hang out when you have a little daughter.

LOUIS

That weekend, my little girl was at my ex-wife's home and that’s why I went out to party. If I could, I wouldn’t have gone to the party.

Choose. This case is LIE.

YOU

What did you do in your free time?

LOUIS

I liked to go to the baseball cages to bat. I’m a very nervous man and I only calm down when I’m doing sport. I like to go cycling.

YOU

So you were a sports person.

LOUIS

You could say that.

Choose. This case is TRUTH.

YOU

I used to bat too. When I was alive, I mean. In a match I once did 5 home runs. home runs.

LOUIS

But, were you a normal person before?

YOU

Yeah but when I died... well, I’m not sure if I can tell you. You could call it... a “license”.

LOUIS

Wow, the Devil gives licenses. Well, in the end, Hell won't be as bad as they paint it. But, even so, if Heaven is 1% of how any religion tells that it is, I want to go there for sure.

Choose. This case is TRUTH.

YOU

Going back to the Sport thing. It’s weird to hang out so much for a fitness guy.

LOUIS

I’m not used to hang out so much. Also, isn’t that a sin? I want to go the good place haha

Choose. This case is LIE.

YOU

In your past life, did you break any law or were you arrested? If you did something like that you should tell me.

LOUIS

Nothing comes to my mind...Wait, I lied, I once was arrested in a gender equality protest.

Choose. This case is LIE.

YOU

Now, I’m going to ask you the last and most important question: Have you ever killed someone?

LOUIS

No.

YOU

Are you absolutely sure that nobody died because of you?

LOUIS

100% sure. Not even in the accident.

Choose. This case is LIE.

YOU

Ok, I think I have all I want. Just to know, which fate do you think that you deserve?

LOUIS

I won’t lie, I’m not the best man, but I don’t deserve the eternal fires.

Choose. This case is TRUTH.
